Let's start!

Hello everybody, and thank you for coming in my new blog. First of all I want to say that this is an experiment and I want to see how to evolve it later. But maybe you want to know what is this blog for. My idea would be to put online some of my experience in this field, as I'm studying Gastronomic Science in Italy. I want to talk about some culture of food and some wrong things that we think about food. I apologize for my imperfect english, but I promise you that I will improve it day by day!
This is a blog, but I want you to partecipate too, so at the end of every post I will give you a simple question, or a suggestion, and I would like to hear your opinions!

For today (as in school the first day hasn't to be much heavy) I want only to tell you about a funny story that happened to me last year.
In July I was visiting Rome and I've seen an american family that was searching for something to eat. They suddenly stop in front of a pizzeria and their daughter (7 yo) was amazed and so the mum asked "What's happening?" "Mummy,Mummy, how it's possible? They have Pizza also here in Italy!"
At that words I was like paralyzed with my mouth open. There are really people that don't know that Pizza is italian? The answer is quite easy: yes, of course yes! There are many different cultures in the world, and maybe almost of them know Pizza, but that means that Pizza is almost a "globalized" food, and so as hamburger (another food of globalization) it doesn't need a specific origin, is just "a food of the world" and that's enough. But is that right? I mean, loose regional foods for international foods? Maybe you can answer me, or let me know your idea about that!

And now I leave you the daily question.
What is your regional food and where are you from?

Eat well,
ThePoce
